Treatment Process

1. FREE CONSULTATION

Getting braces is a big thing. We'll discuss what options are available to you for treatment, including length of treatment, if any teeth have to be removed, cost and financing methods. We make sure all your questions are answered so that we can do what's best for you.

  • What is the orthodontic problem?

  • What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?

  • Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?

  • How long will treatment take?

  • How much will it cost?

2. RECORDS

At the records appointment, we thoroughly document a patient's occlusion (bite), dental condition, and the relationship between their teeth and their skeletal structure. With this information, a complete and comprehensive orthodontic treatment plan will be formulated.

Orthodontic records consist of:

  1. An x-ray of the patient's head (cephalogram)
  2. An x-ray of the patient's jaws and teeth (panorex)
  3. Photographs may be required
  4. Impressions of the teeth to make study models

These orthodontic records are used to diagnose and plan the orthodontic procedure needed for each individual patient.

2. COST OF TREATMENT

After Dr. Parker has thoroughly reviewed your diagnostic records, we will be able to establish a treatment fee and financial options, including insurance coverage and the scheduling of future appointments.

Please note that your treatment fee will always include the cost of your retainers at the end of treatment and at least two years of follow-up once your braces are removed.

3. APPOINTMENTS

We will likely require visits that are 4, 6 or 8 weeks apart. WATCH A MOVIE OF YOUR CHOICE WHILE WE PUT ON YOUR BRACES.

4. RETAINERS

Retain means to hold. Therefore retainers are used at the end of treatment to hold your teeth in position. Retainers may be removable or permanent wires bonded behind your teeth. Dr. Parker will discuss the appropriate retention for you.

STERILIZATION

All instruments are subject to thorough sterilization for every patient. You will notice us wearing glasses, gloves and masks when appropriate.
