Parker has shared her story many times about wanting to be a dentist
from grade eight, when she fell off her skateboard and her dentist
miraculously fixed her chipped tooth.
After graduating from dental
school at the University of Toronto in 1988, Dr. Parker was selected to
complete a one year dental residency at the Hospital for Sick Children
in Toronto. This fascinating experience allowed her to practice
dentistry on hundreds of medically compromised children, whose special
needs sometimes required operating room dentistry. She spent one month
treating a northern Ontario aboriginal reserve and even delivered a baby
during her stay. In addition, her residency was affiliated with the Hugh
McMillan Centre and Bloorview Rehabilitation centre.
Dr Parker had a successful
dental practice on Bay St. before embarking on her two year specialty
training in orthodontics, which she completed at Loyola University in
Dr. Parker believes that
orthodontic care should be a positive and fulfilling experience that is
jointly undertaken by the patient and practitioner. Our friendly office
